Somerville Unveiling Updated War Memorials
The Central Hill Veterans Memorials restoration project was a component of the new Somerville High School campus design.
SOMERVILLE, MA — The city announced the re-unveiling of its Vietnam and Korean Wars Memorials on Central Hill will take place on Thursday, Oct. 16.
The memorials were restored as part of the new Somerville High School project. New components of the site include a memorial walk with reflective spaces honoring veterans in chronological order
The one-hour event will be led by the Somerville Department of Veterans’ Services and Public Space and Urban Forestry Division and will take place on the front lawn of the school at 1 p.m. In case of inclement weather, the ribbon-cutting will be rescheduled to Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 11 a.m.
