Somerville Will Not Appeal Wynn Casino Ruling Loss

"Somerville does not intend to seek reconsideration of the commissioner's final decision in this matter," the city said in a statement.

SOMERVILLE, MA - Somerville officials said Tuesday they will not ask state environmental officials to reconsider a decisive waterfront development permit granted to the $2.1 billion Wynn Resorts casino planned for Everett, but may still appeal the decision to Superior Court.

“The City of Somerville does not intend to seek reconsideration of the commissioner’s final decision in this matter,” the city said in a statement. “Somerville is, however, continuing to evaluate the decision and whether to pursue judicial review.”

Last month the Department of Environmental Protection approved a waterfront permit for the 24-story luxury hotel and casino.
