Thurston Spa Set to Reopen Following Ownership Change

Somerville’s Thurston Spa will reopen for business on Tuesday, September 1, following an ownership change and menu overhaul.
John Ferrera, who purchased the eatery on 393 Medford Street, replaces the late Jerry LaFee as owner. Ferrera was a regular customer of Thurston Spa and friend to LaFee over the years.

He will be holding a grand reopening to celebrate the renovations, updated menu and new hours of operation on Tuesday.
Thurston Spa will feature a menu with all-day breakfast items and submarine sandwiches. Delivery service will also be made available to area residents.

The new hours of operation will be 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday through Friday. Saturday will be 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will be closed on Sundays.
Thurston Spa has been a long-standing fixture in the Gilman Square neighborhood for nearly 60 years.
