Somerville Resident Dies In Vermont Highway Crash: Report
The victim was the passenger of a vehicle that crashed into a tree.
SOMERVILLE, MA — A resident has died in a motor vehicle accident that took place on a Vermont highway this past weekend, according to a report from My Champlain Valley.
Janet Montgomery, 62, was the passenger of the car that crashed into a tree that was heading north on Interstate Route 89 in the town of Bolton on the afternoon of Friday, Dec. 26.
The vehicle reportedly crashed after swerving to avoid a tractor-trailer that made a lane change before colliding with the tree. Both the driver and Montgomery were transported to the University of Vermont’s Medical Center. Both people were believed to have relatively minor injuries, however Montgomery was pronounced dead not long after arriving.
