The first event is scheduled for Saturday, October 6, 2012 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Trackside Plaza (2 Canton St.). The group is the process of lining up vendors.

The Stoughton Farmers Market group is on Facebook, so you can check out and "like" their page for updates. According to their Facebook page, "while the market's main focus will be on farm fresh produce/products" they are also looking to have an "array of other unique, locally made/crafted products."

The aim is to be able to make locally grown, fresh fruits and vegetables and other healthy foods more readily available in Stoughton. The hope of having the market at Trackside Plaza is to also boost foot traffic for downtown businesses. Steve Kelley, owner of Trackside Plaza, has worked with the group to make his parking lot available to host the farmers market.

There are still a lot of details to finalize, but plan on being able to go to a farmers market right here in Stoughton this October. In the meantime, visit the Stoughton Farmer's Market Facebook page here: http://www.facebook.com/StoughtonFarmersMarket.
