1. "Hazardous Weather Outlook" on Thursday
According to the National Weather Service, the weather in Stoughton on Thursday, July 26 will be unsettled.

During the day there will be a "chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11 a.m., then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 11 a.m. and noon, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 84. Light southwest wind increasing to 9 to 14 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms."
In the evening, "showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 10 p.m. Some storms could be severe, with large hail, damaging winds, and heavy rain. Cloudy, with a low around 71. Southwest wind 8 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible."

The unsettled weather continues on Friday, with a chance of showers and thunderstorms.
2. Stoughton Selectmen to Recruit Capital Planning Committee
At its meeting on July 10, 2012, the Stoughton Board of Selectmen voted to establish a citizen’s committee to advise the Town Manager and Board of Selectmen in the development of a long-term capital and financial plan for the Town.
Applications are being sought to appoint five volunteers to serve on the Capital and Financial Planning Advisory Committee.
Members of the Capital Planning Committee will help to create a 3-year financial plan for the town.
Those interested in serving on the committee should send letters of interest to the Board of Selectmen at Stoughton’s Town Hall by Thursday, August 9, 2012, 7 p.m.

3. Stoughton All Comers – Summer Track Meets
Join Michael Baugh at the on Thursday nights this summer for fun, exercise, and competition. An experienced track coach, Baugh will instruct children in a different track and field skill each week and conduct some races. This is a no pressure learning experience that will introduce your child to the sport of track and field.
The fee is $2 per race or three races for $5.

4. Thursday is Food Pantry Day in Stoughton
Stoughton resident Peg Carbone continues her effort to curb hunger in Stoughton, personally picking up donations for the food pantries every Thursday.
Here's a note from Peg: "I pick up non perishable food and also household items every Thursday, anywhere in Stoughton and deliver them to the food pantry. Please tell your friends and neighbors. One item, one bag or several, and I will pick them up every Thursday."

5. Patriots Training Camp Opens
Training Camp for the New England Patriots kicks off Thursday, July 26 at the practice fields behind Gillette Stadium.
The first four public practices will be held July 26-29 from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. each day. More dates and times will be announced. The Patriots Fan Zone, an interactive football-themed area, will be open from noon until 6 p.m. from July 26-29.
