1. [POSTPONED] Little Theatre of Stoughton to Hold Fundraiser for Shayla Lutz
The Little Theatre of Stoughton was scheduled to host a mystery dinner theatre Saturday, October 6 at 8 p.m. at the Cedar Hill Golf Club on Park St. in Stoughton with proceeds benefiting the Lutz Family Foundation.

The event has been postponed. We will keep you posted with further details when it is rescheduled.
Shayla Lutz, 3, of Stoughton, died on September 14 after she was involved in a fatal pedestrian accident in front of the Hansen School. Her older sister, Ashleigh, has appeared in shows with the Little Theatre of Stoughton and the family is involved with the group.

A trust fund for the Lutz family has been established at the Stoughton Co-Operative Bank. Donations in Shayla's memory may be made to The Lutz Family Trust at either of the Stoughton Co-Operative Bank's branches on Park St or mailed to the Lutz Family Trust, c/o Stoughton Co-operative Bank, PO Box 446, Stoughton, MA 02072.
2. Orange Leaf Celebrates Opening
The following is from a press release:
Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt opened its 200th store on Sept. 4, at the Village Shoppes at Cobbs Corner in Canton, right over the Stoughton line.
To celebrate this milestone, on Thursday, Sept. 27 Orange Leaf is giving away free 8 oz. cups of froyo to all customers at this location during a grand opening celebration between 5 and 10 p.m. The first 200 people in the door will also receive a goody bag to take home.
During the grand opening in Canton, Orange Leaf encourages monetary donations to Boston Children's Hospital in accordance with a Boston-area fundraiser being held at all seven other Orange Leaf locations in celebration of the 200 store.
The event kicks off four weeks of fundraising, ending Thursday, Oct. 25, at all Boston-area Orange Leaf stores for Boston Children's Hospital of which Orange Leaf will help contribute funds collected with a goal of raising $25,000.
3. Early Release Day for Stoughton Public Schools
Thursday, Sept. 27 is the first early release day for the Stoughton Public Schools this school year. The school hours for early release days are:
- SHS & OMS: 7:35 a.m. – 11:32 a.m.
- Elementary: 8:30 a.m. – 12:20 p.m.
4. Reminder: Thursday is Food Pantry Day in Stoughton
Stoughton resident Peg Carbone continues her effort to curb hunger in Stoughton, personally picking up donations for the food pantries every Thursday.
Here's a note from Peg: "I pick up non perishable food and also household items every Thursday, anywhere in Stoughton and deliver them to the food pantry. Please tell your friends and neighbors. One item, one bag or several, and I will pick them up every Thursday."
