It was an especially gratifying win for the team as on paper it appeared they would be over-matched.

While Kelly and O'Neil continued their strong efforts upfront, the meet was really won by the gutsy racing of Noe, Barkey, McGrath and Daly. McGrath and Daly are in their first season of cross country and have quickly made their mark. Noe is running great again motivated to do especially well in her senior year and Barkey is working hard and just keeps getting better.

Meanwhile, the Stoughton boys were defeated by a deep Sharon team, 17-46. The top runner for the Black Knights was David Lockhart who finished 4th overall (16:11).

Lockhart was followed by Wayne Barnaby (16:49) and Alec DeNapoli (16:58) in 10th and 11th place, respectively. Five Stoughton boys raced fiercely for the 4th and 5th spots on the team and Jack D'Addieco (18:30) and Luke Butera (18:35) were tops among them.

In an encouraging sign, the spread between the top five boys narrowed to a little over two minutes.

Rounding out the team were Sean Ellertson (18:39), Nick Quattrucci (18:43), Jason Marshall (18:43), Rob Gair (19:03), John Eppenstein (19:19), Jonathan Oliveira (21:35) and Alex Smith (23:40).
