Man With Stolen Atlanta PD Gun Wanted By Stoughton Police
Police say 22-year-old Jalen Wilkinson is wanted on a probation warrant and new charges are likely.
STOUGHTON, MA — Police in Stoughton are asking for the public's assistance with finding a man wanted for possessing a gun stolen from an Atlanta police officer.
While responding to a disturbance at the Bell Apartment Complex on Technology Center Drive, officers learned from a witness that the wanted person, identified as 22-year-old Jalen Wilkinson, was in possession of a gun. A police investigation turned up ammunition and identification tying Wilkinson to the rounds, but no weapon.
With Wilkinson away from the scene, a perimeter was setup and a K9 unit that specializes in gun detection was called in, police said. While the K9 unit was on their way, an officer found a backpack with a loaded .40 caliber Glock in a wooded area behind a garage. The rounds in the firearm are a match to the rounds found earlier, according to police.
