Pair of Car Accidents in Stoughton Send Seven to Hospital

The two car accidents—one at Canton and School Streets and one at South and Central Streets—occurred Saturday evening, March 3.

Two separate car accidents resulted in a total of seven people being transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries Saturday evening in Stoughton.

The Stoughton Fire Department responded to the first incident—a two-car accident—at 5:43 p.m. on March 3 at the corner of Canton and School Streets, SFD Captain Don Jasmin said.

Five people were transported to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton by a total of three ambulances—one each from the towns of Stoughton, Canton and Avon.

About three hours later, at 8:41 p.m., the Stoughton Fire Department responded to another two-car accident, this one at the intersection of South and Central Streets, at the Brockton/Avon/Stoughton town lines, Jasmin said.

Jasmin said the Jaws of Life was used to free two people. Both were transported to Good Samaritan in separate ambulances—one ambulance from Stoughton, the other from Avon.

The injuries were more serious in nature than the injuries sustained in the Canton St./School St. crash, but were also considered to be non-life threatening.

It has been a busy weekend for the Stoughton Fire Department. Captains Jasmin and Bob O’Donnell said SFD Group 3 had 22 runs on Friday, while Group 4 had 24 runs on Saturday.
