• Why ex-Stoughton cop won't face execution in Sandra Birchmore case (southcoasttoday.com) — Federal prosecutors have decided not to seek the death penalty against former Stoughton police officer Matthew Farwell, who is charged in connection with the death of Sandra Birchmore and her unborn child. The case centers on alleged abuse tied to the Stoughton Police Explorer program and includes a related civil suit against several former town employees, the town of Stoughton, and its police department.
   

• Mice droppings on booths, soiled equipment plague Boston's only TGI Fridays (masslive.com) — Stoughton diners may want to know that Boston’s only TGI Fridays recently failed multiple health inspections, with issues like mice droppings and heavily soiled kitchen equipment.
