Stoughton Nurse Charged with Elder Abuse Indicted, Returns to Court Next Week

Sandra Luxien-Calixte was arrested in February after police found an elderly woman in extremely poor condition.

A Stoughton woman and nurse previously charged with elder abuse is set to return to court next week, WCVB reported Wednesday.

Stoughton Police arrested Sandra Luxien-Calixte, 48, in February after they found a 75-year-old woman she had been caring for in a basement bedroom with the thermostat off and the temperature at about 51 degrees. The victim, moreover, reportedly had bed sores that exposed bone and had been dehydrated and malnourished.

Lucien-Calixte was charged with permitting serious injury to an elder in February and was held on $25,000 bail.

She was subsequently indicted by a grand jury and will head to a pretrial conference on Wednesday, Sept. 24, with a pretrial hearing scheduled for Oct. 28, according to WCVB.
