The following are obituaries for Stoughton residents or those with Stoughton ties for the week of July 16: Marie E. (Tobin) Sheehan, Scott W. Duclos and Walter L. Rush.

Marie E. (Tobin) Sheehan
Marie E. (Tobin) Sheehan, 86, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully Thursday, July 19, 2012, after a period of failing health.
She was the wife of the late Patrick J. Sheehan, a dedicated mother of seven children and a loving grandmother and great grandmother.

Mrs. Sheehan was a life-long advocate for those who could not advocate for themselves. Always a catalyst for change, her 20 years of leadership and innovation as the Director of Community Services at Catholic Charities in Brockton touched countless lives.
She founded The MainSpring House and Shelter in Brockton and was Co-Founder of the south shore region of Lost Coin Women's Fund, a foundation that provides scholarships for women to continue their education.

She was a proud member of the Massachusetts Women's Church and the Stoughton Historical Society and was a passionate adult learner who earned a Masters Degree in Pastoral Counseling from Emmanuel College. Her life inspired those around her to overcome, persevere and achieve.
She is survived by her children; Kathleen J. Ciccolo and Suzanne M. Paster both of Hanover, Kevin P. of TX, Mary E. Hughes of Halifax, Brianne S. Sheehan Battle of Canton, Terrance P. of Boston and John P. of Lexington. She was the grandmother of Patrick and Christopher Sheehan, Maria and Abigail Ciccolo, Meaghan Hughes, Caroline Paster, William Battle and Greer and Harrison Sheehan. She was the great grandmother of Alice Marie Sheehan, Grace and Cecelia Sheehan. She was the sister of Robert Tobin of CT, Claire Ivaldi of Stoughton and the late Richard Tobin. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the , 358 Park St. (Rt.27) in Stoughton on Tuesday, July 24 at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at , Stoughton at 10:30 a.m. Visiting Hours are Monday, July 23 from 4-8 p.m. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.

Scott W. Duclos
Scott W. "Doggie" Duclos, 48, died unexpectedly on Monday, July 16, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Mary Ann (VanHorn) Duclos. Born in Medford, he was raised and educated in Stoughton.
He worked for Testa Construction and the Laborer's Union Local 1421 in Boston for many years. Prior to working for Testa, he worked for Napoli Wrecking.
Known for his distinctive voice, he is remembered for his loving and giving personality and as an all-around wonderful person. He was a Jack-of-All-Trades, and enjoyed helping his friends and neighbors. Above all, he was a devoted and loving father.
He is survived by his beloved daughter Bailey Lynn Duclos of Stoughton. He was the brother of Daniel Duclos of Stoughton, Susan Nathan of Randolph, Paul Duclos of Lynn, Gail Cromwell of Brockton and Mark Duclos of AK and the late Donna Papadimitrios. He was predeceased by his parents, Louis and Patricia (Lowd) Duclos. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his dog Teddy.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) in Stoughton on Monday, July 23, at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Service at the , 414 Sumner St., Stoughton at 10:30 a.m. Visiting Hours Sunday, July 22 from 2-6 p.m.

Walter L. Rush
Walter L. Rush, 78, of Stoughton, died July 16, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a period of failing health.
He was the husband of 55 years of Ann M. (Hayes) Rush. Born and raised in Medford, he was a graduate of Medford Schools and also attended Northeastern University.
Mr. Rush was a Veteran of the US Army.
Mr. Rush worked as a Banker for over 45 years at Broadway National Bank in Chelsea and then at Baybank in the Operations Center. He retired in 2002. Several years ago, he was very active in Stoughton Youth Hockey, donating countless hours both as a coach and as an administrator. In his free time he enjoyed playing hockey and softball.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Susan M. Amaru and Barbara A. Ilacqua both of Stoughton, Richard W. Rush and his wife Maureen and Christine M. Krim and her husband Edward all of Easton. Mr. Rush was the brother of Audrey Haver of OH and the late Mary Audrey Rush. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated at the Immaculate Conception Church on Friday, July 20. Interment took place at the Evergreen Cemetery in Stoughton.
