Stoughton School District Names Next South Elementary Principal
New Principal Jake Dore said he's excited to join the South Elementary School, calling it "the perfect school" to continue his career.
STOUGHTON, MA — Jake Dore is the next principal of South Elementary School in Stoughton, interim Superintendent Jonathan Ford announced last week.
Dore spent the last three years as the assistant principal at Hooks Elementary School in Chelsea. Before that, he was a teacher and the coordinator of the Science-Embedded Literacy Program at Hooks Elementary.
"The District is very fortunate to be able to bring Principal Jake Dore to the South Elementary School for this coming school year," Ford said in a statement. "Mr. Dore has already distinguished himself as a highly effective administrator in Chelsea, and we're looking forward to watching the impact his positive outlook and student focused approach have on the South School community."

While in the Chelsea school community, Dore ran several extracurricular activities. He coached a running and fitness program after school and served as a stage crew director for the Hooks Elementary School musical. An avid Boston sports fan, and an even bigger Harry Potter fan, Dore said he can always be found with a Dunkin’ iced coffee year round.
"The most important goal for me as Principal is for every student to be excited to come to school every day, learn something new every day and be able to identify something about themselves that makes them an expert learner," Dore said. "The South School has a demonstrated history of success, and I look forward to continuing these practices and looking for ways to push our success even further."
Dore received a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in education leadership and administration from the University of Massachusetts, Boston. He also has his masters in education from Lesley University and got his bachelors at Boston University.
