Stoughton Selectmen Searching For New Town Counsel
Current town counsel Brian Winner will remain as special town counsel for current matters he's working on.

STOUGHTON, MA — The Stoughton Board of Selectmen now have the task of finding new legal representation to the town following change at their counsel’s current firm.
A request for proposal has been issued for new town counsel with a start date of July 1. Chairperson Robert O’Reagan informed the board Thursday that attorney Brian Winner, who handles Stoughton matters on behalf of Kopelman and Paige, is leaving for a new firm and Leonard Kopelman is joining a new firm as well.
The town will not lose representation on current legal matters. The board voted 5-0 to name Winner special town counsel and he will remain the attorney for Stoughton matters he is currently assigned to.

O’Reagan said he was not sure if Koppelman’s move meant the end of the law firm.
The town will not have a town counsel until the new one is appointed, but O’Reagan said that he thought that they would be able to level through the two-and-a-half month period.
