Stoughton Teacher Salaries Beat State Average

The school district ranks 61st in the state when it comes to pay.

STOUGHTON, MA — Teacher salaries are always a hot topic. How much do we pay the people who help educate our children? According to national and state data, teachers in Stoughton do much better than they do in most of the state and country.

The average Stoughton teacher salary in 2016-17 was $83,867, which is the 61st highest average in the state and above the Massachusetts average of $78,100, according to the National Education Association.

The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education numbers "include classroom and specialist teacher professional salaries, and professional salaries attributed to professional development days," the department said.

The amount of teachers includes full-time equivalents published to the school/district profiles found here, as well as "teachers on leave" reported in EPIMS, and postsecondary teacher full-time equivalents reported to the CVTE office.
