Two Car Accident in Stoughton Sends Two Adults and Two Children to Hospital

Two adults and two children were transported to the hospital with minor injuries following a two car crash in Stoughton Thursday evening, according to Captain Scott Breen of the .

The accident took place at the corner of Washington St. (Route 138) and Kinsley St. at 5:36 p.m. on August 2. A Toyota Avalon (sedan) and Lexus SUV collided, with the Lexus rolling over onto its roof, Breen said.

Three of the patients were able to get out of their respective vehicles on their own, but the female driver of the Lexus had to be helped out by first responders, although luckily she was not entrapped in the vehicle, Breen said.

There were two passengers in each vehicle, a total of one man, one woman and two male children. Two Stoughton Fire Department ambulances transported all four patients to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton with what Breen said appeared to be non life-threatening injuries.

"I was walking my dog and was at the corner of Kinsley and Washington Streets, ready to cross, when my dog pulled me back. That was when the white SUV landed on its roof right where I [would have been] standing," said 20-year-old Stoughton resident Michelle Harris, who witnessed the crash. Fortunately she was not injured. 

Harris said the SUV was in the process of crossing over Route 138 from Brock St. to Kinsley St. and the sedan was traveling northbound on Route 138 towards the downtown when the accident occurred.
