Oppressive Heat Returns: How Hot Sudbury Will Get
The thermometer could hit triple-digits this week during a short but humid temperature shock.
SUDBURY, MA — The region will be in for another round of high heat this week, with temperatures peaking at or near triple digits on Thursday, according to forecasts.
Although temperatures will remain relatively high in Massachusetts through the weekend, this week's stretch of oppressive heat will be shorter than the wave that stuck around for five days at the end of July.
The best chance for record-breaking heat in Massachusetts is in the Lowell area, where the heat index could hit 105 on Thursday, according to forecasts. But other parts of the state will be close behind with heat indices in Boston at 101, Worcester at 99 and Springfield at 103.
