SUDBURY, MA — The local vegetarian fast-casual restaurant chain Clover Food Lab emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy this week, and court documents indicate the Sudbury location will remain open.

Clover Food Lab filed for bankruptcy protection in November in Delaware, citing a slower post-pandemic recovery and trouble accessing financing following the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank, according to court records.

The chain started from a food truck at MIT in 2008, and expanded to 12 restaurants across the Boston area. Clover operates two kiosks at Whole Foods markets in Sudbury and Westford. The Sudbury kiosk opened in 2017.

The bankruptcy plan indicates that Clover will continue its lease with Whole Foods for the Sudbury location, although the chain is closing a Dedham warehouse and two restaurants in Somerville and Copley Square in Boston.

Clover also wants to expand following the bankruptcy, announcing plans to open more than 40 outlets over the next five years across New England, according to Boston Restaurant Talk.
