5 Things You Need to Know for the Week Ahead in Swampscott

From deadlines to fun times, take a look at what you need to know for Dec. 7-13 in Swampscott.

  1. Senior Property Tax Work Off Deadline. Swampscott residents ages 60 and older have until Monday, Dec. 7 to file an application for a property tax abatement through a work-off program. Details and the application are available here.
  2. Swampscott Community Power Info Session. Head to Swampscott High School on Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. to learn more about the soon-to-launch community power program.
  3. Gingerbread House Contest Drop-Off. If you’re participating in this year’s Gingerbread House contest, you’ll need to drop off your entry Dec. 9 or 10 from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
  4. Holiday Parade and Festival. It all gets started at 5:30 p.m. at Swampscott High School from which the parade will stop off. After the parade, there’s more holiday fun to be had at town hall. Check out the details.
  5. Trees for Troops. Mahoney’s Garden Centers is once again collecting donations for the Trees for Troops program. This year, you can donate in one of the eight Massachusetts Mahoney’s locations, over the phone and online. Check out details here.
