Barking Service Dog; Stolen Cemetery Flowers; Grocery Store Shoplifter

At 9:18 a.m., a passing motorist requested a well-being check of a woman sitting on the curb with her head on her arms. The woman was known to police.

At 9:32 a.m., a resident reported that a neighbor’s service dog had been barking for a couple of hours and requested a check of the person. Police found a note from the resident stating that he would be out for a couple of hours and the dog may bark. The animal control officer was notified after the neighbor called again. The situation is known to the town, according to the ACO.

At 1:08 p.m., a loss prevention officer at Stop & Shop reported having a shoplifter in custody. The person was issued a no trespassing order.

At 4:37 p.m., the department of public works director reported flowers had been stolen from the cemetery entrance.

At 10:45 p.m., employees at Stop & Shop reported a fight in the parking lot. It had ended by the time police arrived.
