Tuesday, Sept. 1

At 8:59 a.m., a suspicious Toyota Carolla was reported to be parked on Pine Street with an occupant inside. It was parked for several hours and was reportedly there on Monday as well. The vehicle was gone on officer’s arrival.

At 10:32 a.m., the suspicious Toyota returned and it turned out to be a private investigator. Police advised that person to register at the police station.

At 11:06 a.m., a person who uses a wheelchair reported that a moving van was blocking the sidewalk near the cemetery.

At 1:41 p.m., a person flagged down an officer to make a noise complaint about a loud cell phone talker.

At 1:54 p.m., a homeless man was reported to be screaming at CVS.

At 2:50 p.m., a caller reported finding a parrot. The animal control officer was notified.

At 5:48 p.m., a caller reported large snake skins found in a wooded area. The animal control officer was notified to investigate.

At 7:03 p.m., some clothes and a bicycle was found in the woods near the mall.

At 11:16 p.m., a motor vehicle stop led to an arrest. Matthew Campbell, 29, of Salem, was charged with operating with a suspended license, operating on a suspended registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle/trailer.
