Breakfast with Santa, Gingerbread Houses, Ice Skating and More: Holiday Season in Swampscott

Swampscott has numerous holiday events planned in the weeks ahead, beginning with Breakfast with Santa this weekend.

Swampscott Recreation has numerous events coming up to help residents get into the holiday spirit.

From breakfast with Santa to a gingerbread house contest to ice skating and more, there’s something for everyone.

Saturday, Dec. 5

  • Breakfast with Santa -- 9 a.m. at the Swampscott Senior Center. Tickets are $8/adult and $5/child or senior. All proceeds benefit Toys for Local Children.

Saturday, Dec. 12

  • Police Association Holiday Parade -- Steps off at 5:30 p.m. from Swampscott High School.
  • Holiday Festival -- Following the parade. Events include Flashlight Candy Cane Hunt on Linscott Part (6 p.m.); tree lighting ceremony (7 p.m.)
  • Free Ice Skating -- noon-9 p.m. on the town hall lawn. Free skate rentals.

Sunday, Dec. 1

  • Free Ice Skating -- 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on the town hall lawn. Free skate rentals.

Gingerbread House Contest

  • Register by Friday, Dec. 4.
  • Drop off houses between 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Dec. 9 or 10.
  • Pick up houses on Tuesday, Dec. 22 by 4:30 p.m.
