Five Mulling Runs For Swampscott Selectmen
A three-way race is shaping up for the two Swampscott school committee seats up for reelection this spring.
SWAMPSCOTT, MA — At least five Swampscott residents are considering runs for the two Swampscott board of selectmen race up for reelection on April 28.
Incumbents Naomi Dreeben and Laura Spathanas have both signaled they will run for reelection by withdrawing nomination papers. Stephen Williams, who missed being elected to the board of selectmen in last year's election, has already returned nomination papers for certification. David M. Grishman of Sampson Avenue and Neal Duffy of Hamden Street have also taken out nomination papers.
Meanwhile, a three-way race is shaping up for for the two Swampscott School Committee seats up for reelection. While incumbent Gargi Cooper told the Swampscott Reporter she would not run for reelection, incumbent Suzanne Wright is planning to run for reelection. Keiko Zoll, who ran for School Committee last year, and Belleair Drive resident Greg D’Antona have also withdrawn nomination papers.

In addition to school committee and selectmen, moderator, board of assessors and and housing authority all have seats open for reelection. There are also 108 town meeting member seats up for reelection in the election.
Candidates have until 5 p.m. on March 10 to return signed nomination papers for certification.
