Grave Markers from Veterans Graves Reported at Scrap Yard
An person visited the scrap yard, spotted what he thought could have been markers stolen from veterans' graves.

Friday, Oct. 9
At 1:09 a.m., a car door was open and the dome light was on; the owner said everything was intact.
At 2:53 a.m., a person reported a white van had been sitting in the same spot for an hour with people inside.

At 9:27 a.m., larceny was reported on Humphrey Street.

At 3:25 p.m., a person reported that another individual came into the VFW after visiting the scrap yard where he found a number of veterans markers that he thought might have been stolen from area graves.
A 3:39 p.m., a caller reported a person in the water by the pier at Fisherman’s Beach. Police arrived and found the individual to be an accomplished swimmer; the fire and ambulance were canceled.
At 9:18 p.m., the Salem PD reported a vehicle appeared to be headed into Swampscott on four blown-out tires.
Saturday, Oct. 10
At 6:44 a.m., a caller complained that a group was being loud while unloading a truck and setting up for a yard sale. An officer checked into it, and the parties’ had a permit.
At 8:26 a.m., a caller reported a vehicle in the lawn and possibly into a house.
At 2:57 p.m., a resident said they had fired a roofer, and the roofer threatened to destroy the work he’d already done.
At 3:36 p.m., an employee at Stop & Shop reported a past motor vehicle breaking and entering.
At 8:10 p.m., a resident reported someone rang her doorbell and ran off. She said she heard this laughing and that this has been an ongoing issue.
