- The annual Halloween Witch Ride Muscular Dystrophy Association fundraiser will take place Sunday, Oct. 18. It will run up Humphrey St. as it goes from Revere to Shetland Park in Salem. This annual benefit motorcycle ride will have a significant impact on traffic in the early afternoon hours. The event leaves Boston Harley Davidson in Revere at approximately noon and extends through several communities with its pathway travelling along Lynn Shore Dr. and into Humphrey St. in Swampscott before entering Marblehead. Registration starts at 9 a.m. at Boston Harley Davidson in Revere.
- The 1st Halloween Display Contest is going on now in Swampscott. For the Love of Swampscott invites residents and business owners to put together their best Halloween display. The only rule of the contest is that owners are responsible for the design, installation, and removal of all decorations. All displays must be decorated and registered by dusk on Sunday, Oct. 25. It’s FREE to enter, but you must register your display online. After the 25th, residents will be asked to judge the various displays during the week leading up to Halloween. The top three participants will receive Swampscott baskets full of the best of 01907.
- For the Love of Swampscott is also hosting a Halloween Harvest Festival on Oct. 25 at the Outdoor Classroom adjacent to the Senior Center behind Swampscott High School. The event will feature crafts and games, a scary haunted house, food for purchase, family photos, family entertainment, kids palm readings, chef samples and so much more. Tickets are $5 per person with a $20 family maximum.
