Marblehead Hockey Coach Charged With Sex Assault In Swampscott

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — A Swampscott man who coaches for Marblehead Youth Hockey has been accused of sexual assault.

Tyson Dion, 46, of Swampscott, pleaded not guilty Feb. 7 four counts of indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or older and one count of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14. He was released on $5,000 bail and ordered not to have contact with anyone under the age of 16, except for his two sons.

In a statement, Massachusetts Hockey said it has suspended Dion from his volunteer position. The charges are not related to his work as a coach.

Dion is due back in court March 13.
