Master Plan Update Forum Happening Tuesday
It's time to hear what months of planning and meeting have revealed about Swampscott's next master plan.

Forty years ago Swampscott had a master plan that guided development and planning for the town.
Earlier this year, the town launched the public portion of Swampscott 2025: The Master Plan. Since then, three public forum’s have been held to allow residents to speak up about everything from housing to economic development to open space/recreation to transportation needs and more.
On Tuesday, Dec. 1, the Metropolitan Area Planning Council, which the town contracted to assist with creating the plan, and town officials will hold a fourth forum to lay out for residents what all those previous forums, as well as the work of the MAPC and the Swampscott Master Plan Committee have found.

During the forum, attendees will see a presentation of draft goals and strategies of the plan, be asked to identify top priorities for each plan element and where future development should be encouraged, ask questions of staff and otherwise hear the latest about the plan and process.
The forum will take place Tuesday, Dec. 1 from 6:30-9 p.m. in the Swampscott High School Auditorium.
