North Shore Disabled American Veterans Hurricane Relief Fund
The E.F. Gilmore Chapter of the DAV is providing support for those affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
SWAMPSCOTT, MA — The Swampscott-Lynn chapter of the Disabled American Veterans of the North Shore is raising money to provide support for those affected by recent Hurricanes Helene and Milton with all donations set to be matched from a generous benefactor.
E.F. Gilmore Commander Jeffrey Blonder said all funds raised through this effort will be donated to the DAV Disaster Relief Program. The program, created in 1968, has donated more than $19.5 million to relief efforts over the past five decades.
"When disasters strike, DAV and its team of National Service Officers are on the ground to help our nation's heroes," Blonder said. "DAV provides relief through financial assistance as well as supply kits to veterans and their families so they can obtain basic necessities such as food, warm clothes and shelter."
