SWAMPSCOTT, MA— Father's Day is the perfect time to give a big thanks to all the dads who put smiles on our faces. Swampscott, meet Chris Kennedy.

If you know a dad who sends sweet, silly or thoughtful texts your way, you’re pretty lucky. Texts from Dad have a way of putting a smile on our faces — and this Father’s Day, we’re celebrating the fathers behind the phones!

Patch has partnered with T-Mobile to shine a light on awesome dads and the funny, insightful things they say. This submission comes from Rachel Kennedy who nominated Chris Kennedy of Swampscott.

What makes your dad extra special?

My dad is extra special because he has come up with and used his own language for the last 15+ years (really even longer than that). His wife and his three daughters have all become fluent in this language. A text from him will come in saying “Hi honey, stookadoo?” And I know that what he’s saying is “Hi honey, did you call that plumber about getting your hose fixed?” Then, he signs off with a “Zingada”, and this means “Sounds good, I will check in with you about that tomorrow.”
His own language, plus so many other wonderful qualities that make him the best dad around, is what makes my dad unique.

Why do you feel your dad deserves the spotlight?

My dad deserves the spotlight because he is the most selfless man who has given everything to his family. He makes an effort to make a connection with and get to know everyone he meets, remembers little details about your life, and so many people know and love him.

Happy Father’s Day to Chris Kennedy, and thank you for all you do!
