Strange Man Rings Resident's Doorbell After Midnight, Requests Help

Plus, stolen bicycles, men fighting and a cooler full of beer cans.

Sunday, Aug. 30

At 1:29 a.m., a woman reported that an unknown man rang her doorbell requesting assistance with his vehicle that had broken down. Police responded and helped the man call AAA.

At 3:10 a.m., two unknown men were reported to be walking in the area of Pine Street and Railroad Avenue.

At 10:16 a.m., two men were reported to be fighting on Roy Street,

At 11:35 a.m., two cars were reported to have been keyed on Cherry Street.

At 5:35 p.m., vandalism to property on Cherry Street was reported.

At 11:15 a.m., a suspicious man was reported to be standing at the corner of Humphrey and Salem streets. He was gone on police arrival.

Monday, Aug. 31

At 5:59 a.m., a caller reported an abandoned cooler that “seemed out of place” on Blodgett Avenue. Officer collected the item and found it had empty beer cans inside.

At 9:04 a.m., a dead or injured seal was reported on Fisherman’s Beach.

At 4:44 p.m., a person previously issued a “no trespass” order was reported to be in Whole Foods.

At 5:01 p.m., a caller reported his bicycle was stolen while he was in Stop & Shop.

At 7:21 p.m., a bike was reported stolen from Puritan Road.
