Swampscott Accident Causes Power Outage

SWAMPSCOTT, MA – An elderly woman drove off the road on Humphrey Street near Marblehead and hit a telephone pole, snapping it in half on Friday morning.

According to Swampscott Police, the accident caused a power outage. The driver, who was alone, was taken to Salem Hospital with minor injuries.

MEMA and National Grid showed no power outages as of noon on Friday. The incident is under investigation.
