Are you interested in getting involved in your community's sports.

The following letter was submitted on behalf of Swampscott Little League President Joe Ford
Swampscott Little League will not be successful without volunteers — new and existing.
Swampscott Little League will hold its annual meeting and election of officers for the 2015-2016 Little League season on Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. at Swampscott High School.

The meeting is open to parents, coaches, volunteers, and anyone with a vested interest in the operation of Swampscott Little League (i.e. “Regular Members”). Members of the public are allowed to vote for incoming Board of Directors members.
We will have an open election for 25 Board of Director seats (one-year term). All “Regular Members” (parents, coaches, volunteers) in good standing are eligible to serve on the Board and are eligible to vote. We need people that want to make a difference. You do NOT need to be a baseball expert. The Board of Directors meet monthly from September to June to discuss league operations, finances, volunteer needs, and also take on various assignments and roles, as needed.

A synopsis of a board member’s responsibilities:
— Attend monthly meetings
— Serve on board committees
— Help with field preparation in early-spring preseason
— Serve in volunteer roles ranging from field prep, scoreboard, scorekeeping and snack shack during district all-star baseball and softball tournaments in June and July
Those Members (in good standing) who have served one year on the Board of Directors are eligible to serve on the Executive Board. The open Executive Board positions include President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Player Agent, Safety Officer, and Information Officer. The Board of Directors will elect the Executive Board after the Annual Meeting. The term is one year.
Please join us for our annual meeting Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 7 p.m. and consider how you can help make the 2016 SLL a year to remember for the 350+ boys and girls that participate in Swampscott Little League each year.
For more information or to place your name on the ballot for the Board of Director election, please contact SLL President Joe Ford at fordpainting@icloud.com. You may also indicate your interest for any specific position on the Board or to serve on a committee.
Thanks,
Joe Ford (President SLL)
