Swampscott Middle School Needs $3.7 Million Roof Fix

Swampscott is hoping to cut the town's share to $2 million with help from the state.

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — The town needs $3.68 million to fix a leaky roof at Swampscott Middle School.

The town has applied for funding from the Massachusetts School Building Authority to help cut the town's share of the repairs to $2 million, according to Wicked Local Swampscott, which first reported this story. "Parts of the roof are 20 years old, and parts of it are 30 years old," Town Administrator Sean Fitzgerald told the newspaper.
