Swastikas, Racial Epithets on School Property Condemned by Officials

Police are investigating hate symbol graffiti found at, near the Middle School over the weekend.

Swampscott, MA - Town officials are condemning the actions of those who drew swastikas and racial epithets at the Swampscott Middle School and in surrounding areas over the weekend.

The hateful graffiti was discovered at the middle school and on surrounding streets on Sunday.

On Wednesday, selectmen and Town Administrator Thomas Younger issued a letter condemning the actions of those who drew the swastikas and racial epithets.

"These actions are not what we believe, are not indicative of the community, and they will not be tolerated," the letter states. "Swampscott is a town which believes that all individuals should be accepted and free from persecution."

The letter went on to state that police are thoroughly investigating the incidents and they are confident they will find those responsible.
