Train Delays Through Monday Caused by Mechanical Problems

Several MBTA commuter rail trains were delayed Monday morning into the afternoon.

Mechanical problems are causing problems along the North Shore commuter rail lines on Monday.

Several trains in and out of North Station on the Newburyport/Rockport line were delayed starting before 10 a.m. The affected trains serve Swampscott, Salem, Beverly and Beverly Farms stations.

Train 114, the 9:10 a.m. inbound train from Rockport, was delayed up to 25 minutes and train 109, which typically leaves at 8:35 a.m. from North Station, ran up to 30 minutes late.

The problems also cancelled one train, train 116 which typically leaves at 10:05 a.m. from Rockport.

Later, the delays continued for train 120, the 12 p.m. train from Rockport, which was running 20 minutes late.
