Warrant Arrest, Sparking Wire, Fleeing the Scene of a Crash

At 8:52 a.m., a caller reported a wire sparking as it hung in a tree on Brown Road. The caller reported she could smell smoke.

At 11:24 a.m., a resident reported a package had been taken from a porch on Pine Street.

At 1:37 p.m., a person came into the police station to report finding a hypodermic needle on the ground. The reporting party agreed to stand by and flag down an officer when he/she arrived.

At 2:28 p.m., a Stop & Shop employee reported their motor vehicle had been vandalized.

At 5:33 p.m., a minor motor vehicle crash was reported at the mall lights on Paradise Road. One vehicle reportedly backed into another, causing minor damage. The striking party, however, refused to exchange information and then fled the scene. That owner operator will be issued a criminal summons for leaving the scene of a crash with property damage.

At 8:43 p.m., police stopped a vehicle for an inspection sticker violation. The operator, Thomas Corbett, 45, of Lynn, was subsequently placed under arrest on a warrant for operating an uninsured motor vehicle/trailer.

At 8:51 p.m., a caller reported a possible dead seal on the beach near Lawrence Terrace. The New England Aquarium was contacted.
