Watch For Suspicious Van in Wake of Recent Break-Ins, Police Advise

There have been several residential home break-ins over the past week in Swampscott and police are asking residents to be on the lookout.

According to a police statement, witnesses at most of the break-ins have reported spotting a white “European-style” van with a high back and car-like front. It possibly has New Jersey plates, the statement addes.

On Saturday, Sept. 12, at least caller reported seeing a van parked in the driveway of a home that had been burglarized the day before, according to the police log.

Wtinesses also reported that two men have been spotted in the van, one with dark hair and a beard and the other with a shaved head and fair skin.

Police are asking that anyone who spots a van matching the description to call police immediately.
