What's Open, Closed on Thanksgiving in Swampscott

Thanksgiving Day is almost here. It’s also the start of the holiday season.
This year, like last year, we only have 28 days between Thanksgiving and Christmas so you’ll have to cram in your shopping in a four-week period.
Thanksgiving will be observed on Thursday, Nov. 26 this year. Below we have a list of early Wednesday closings, what’s open (and closed) on the Thanksgiving holiday, as well as town offices that are also closed on Friday, Nov. 27:

Wednesday, Nov. 25:
- Swampscott Public Library closes at 5 p.m.
- Swampscott town offices will close at noon.
- Swampscott Senior Center will close after lunch (no afternoon activities or shopping)
Thanksgiving, Thursday, Nov. 26:
- Retail stores: Closed.
- Supermarkets, liquor stores: Closed.
- Convenience stores: Open at owner’s discretion.
- Gyms: Closed or reduced hours.
- Bars and restaurants: Open at owner’s discretion.
- Stock market: Closed.
- Municipal, state, federal offices and banks: Closed.
- Libraries and schools: Closed.
- Post office: Closed.
Friday, Nov. 27:
- Swampscot Public Library: Open regular hours
- Swampscott Town Hall: Closed
- Swampscott Senior Center: Closed
