Tewksbury Police ID Suspect Arrested In Connection With Tues. Stabbing

TEWKSBURY, MA — The Tewksbury Police Department has identified the suspect arrested in connection with a late Tuesday stabbing on Woodland Drive that left two people injured, including one man hospitalized with wounds on his neck and arms.

Ricky Carl Stanichuk, 70, was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing bodily injury, police said. The suspect was ordered held without bail at his Wednesday arraignment, according to authorities.

A 47-year-old Tewksbury man, who has not been publicly identified, suffered several stab wounds to the neck and arms in what Tewksbury Police Chief Ryan Columbus described as a "domestic incident."

The male victim was transported by ambulance to a hospital after receiving aid from Tewksbury EMS at the scene, according to authorities. Earlier reports by NBC 10 in Boston described the man's injuries as non-life-threatening.

A 44-year-old Tewksbury woman, who has not been publicly identified, also received medical treatment at the scene but declined transport to the hospital, authorities said.

According to police reports, at 11:16 p.m. Tuesday, the Tewksbury PD responded to a report of an altercation at a Woodland Drive home.

At the scene, police discovered the victims.

Based on their investigation, the Tewksbury PD arrested Stanichuk, the department said.

Authorities said the suspect was transported from the scene in a Tewksbury EMS ambulance and was taken to an area hospital.
