Everett Police Mourn Loss of Officer from Tewksbury
Officer Glen Briley, 44, of Tewksbury was found unresponsive in his cruiser Wednesday morning.

The Everett Police Department is mourning the loss of a long-time officer who died Wednesday, apparently of natural causes, according to the department.
Officer Glen Briley, 44, a 19-year veteran of the department was found unresponsive Wednesday morning in his marked cruiser and pronounced dead on the scene, police said in a statement on the department’s Facebook page.
“First of all, my thoughts and prays go out to Officer Briley’s family”, said Everett Mayor Carlo DeMaria in a statement released by the City of Everett. “This is a terrible loss for his family and it is a terrible loss for the City of Everett. This is also very difficult for me personally, because Glen was a classmate of mine at Everett High School, and he was one of the most well-liked and respected members of the Everett Police Department. He will be greatly missed.”

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of Officer Glen Briley. He was a valued member of the Everett Police Department family and we know his loss is felt by all that know him,” said Everett Police Chief Steven Mazzie in the same statement. “ It’s an even more difficult situation to lose him during the Holiday Season, so we will be doing our best to focus on his family and help them heal from this tragic event.”
Briley began his career as a patrolman in December of 1996, and served as a member of the uniformed Patrol Division.

Briley is survived by his wife Jeannine, and two children Erin and Ryan.
Services for Officer Briley will take place on Sunday, Dec. 13 and Monday, Dec. 14 in Tewksbury >>>
