Field Hockey Seeded 6th, Girls Soccer 19th In D2 North Sectionals
Volleyball team falls just short of reaching tournament.

The field hockey team and girls soccer team will be representing Tewksbury High as the MIIA State Tournament season gets underway.
The field hockey team finished the regular season at 11-3-4 and is seeded 6th in the 13-team Division 2 North Sectional. The Redmen will open tournament play today (Thursday, Nov. 1) at home against Bishop Fenwick.

The girls soccer team scrambled late in the year and squeezed into the tournament. The Redmen finished the regular season at 6-7-4 and are seeded 19th and last in the Division 2 North Sectional. Tewksbury will open tournament play on the road Friday at No. 14 Wayland (8-6-1).

The news was not as good for the boys soccer team and the volleyball team, neither of which made the state tournament.
The volleyball team came painfully close, needing a win over Dracut in the final game of the regular season to advance to tournament play. But Dracut proved too tough and the Middies claimed a straight set win, 25-23, 25-19, 25-17.
Jen Iannacci played well for Tewksbury with seven kills and five blocks. Kelli Sugrue had six kills and four blocks. Shannon McLaughlin and Jen Cobbucci had strong games for the Redmen.
Tewksbury finishes its season at 8-10.
