Gail Grant, 78, of Tewksbury
Beloved mother and grandmother, Gail and her husband Ernie raised their family in Tewksbury.

TEWKSBURY, MA – Gail (Austin) Grant, age 78, died peacefully on Monday afternoon, April 11, at Lowell General Hospital, after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Ernest G. Grant, who died in 1981.
Gail, was born in Chichester, NH, one of four children of the late Elmer F. and Gladys (Townsend) Austin, and was raised in Lowell. She graduated Lowell High School with the Class of 1956. After her marriage to Ernie, they moved to Tewksbury to raise their family.
In her earlier years, Gail worked as an Nursing Aid at Tewksbury Hospital, operating room assistant at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Lowell, and later as a dental assistant, but became a full time mother in 1962. She was a faithful communicant of St. William’s Parish.

She will be remembered for her blue eyes and bright smile, and her inner warmth she shared with those she touched. She enjoyed playing the piano, crocheting and cross stitching. She loved the time spent her family, especially her grandchildren.
She leaves five children, John and his wife Lorie Grant of Windom, NH, Arlene and her husband David Pereira, David and his wife Martha Grant, and Kevin and his wife Stefany Grant all of Tewksbury, and Joanne and her husband Paul Gagnon of Danvers; nine beloved grandchildren, Jared and Kaylee Grant, Frankie Barnoth III, and Zachery Pereria, Addison Grant, Chelsea and Kyle Grant, Taylor, and Tori Gagnon; many nieces and nephews; and was predeceased by her siblings, Marion Barry, Virginia Severied, and Gertrude Melonis.

Visiting hours Sunday from 3-6 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey St. and 975 Main St. (Rte. 38) Tewksbury Cetner. Her funeral will begin Monday, April 18, at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass Monday at 10:30 a.m. in St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St. (Rte. 38) Tewksbury. Burial will follow in Tewksbury Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701, will be appreciated.
