An hour and a half after a gas leak forced evacuations at one building in the Merrimack Meadows condominium complex in Tewksbury early residents were able to return to their homes. The Tewksbury Fire Department said the gas leak has been stopped. Just after 1 p.m. Monday afternoon, residents in the complex were being evacuated from one building by fire crews as a precaution for an outside natural gas leak, according to the Tewksbury Fire Department.Crews from National Grid are on scene working to stop the outside leak and Tewksbury fire crews are standing by as a precaution.Merrimack Meadows is located at Merrimack Meadows Lane off of River Road in Tewksbury.Tewksbury Patch will bring you more information as it becomes available.
