Historical Society to Host 3rd Annual Cemetery Tour
This year's tour will take place at the Old South Cemetery.
(Editor's note: The following information was submitted by the Tewksbury Historical Society.)
The Tewksbury Historical Society is planning its 3rd Annual Cemetery Tour on October 26 (7:00 pm), and Oct 28 (3:30 pm), at the "Old South Cemetery" located at the corner of Main Street and Shawsheen Street. Learn about the carvings on slate stones and the final resting place of Revolutionary War veterans from Tewksbury. This will be a night to honor some of the people who came before us and see where they lay at rest. We hope everyone will understand the history of Tewksbury better after this tour. This graveyard is a terrific source of information from Tewksbury's past.
Kim Zunino, the leader of the tour is hoping for good weather. Children age 12 are requested to attend on Sunday. An adult must accompany them. Park your car in the shopping center diagonally across and use the street crosswalks and signage to cross this busy intersection. Bring your flashlight on Friday night.
