Interested In Running For Office In Tewksbury In 2023?

Nomination papers for April's annual town election will be available at the Town Clerk's office beginning on Jan. 3.

TEWKSBURY, MA — Nomination papers for those interested in running for elected office next year in Tewksbury will be available next week, according to Town Clerk Denise Graffeo.

The 2023 annual town election is scheduled for April 1. Residents looking to run can pick up their nomination papers beginning next Tuesday, Jan. 3, at the Town Clerk's Office, which is located at 1009 Main St. The office is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

In order to be eligible to run, candidates must return their nomination papers with signatures, and addresses, of 50 valid, registered Tewksbury voters. The nomination papers must be returned to the Town Clerk's office by 5 p.m. on Feb. 10.

Offices that are open for election in 2023 are:

  • Board of Selectmen (1 seat)
  • School Committee (1 seat)
  • Planning Board — 3-year term (1 Seat)
  • Planning Board — 2 -year unexpired Term (1 seat)
  • Board of Library Trustees (2 seats)
  • Board of Health (1 seat)
  • Housing Authority — 2-year unexpired term (1 seat)
  • Moderator (1 seat)
