Lowell Man Arrested, Charged With Thanksgiving Murder

LOWELL, MA — A Lowell man was arrested and charged with murder Monday in connection with the Thanksgiving death of a Boston woman in Lowell, Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Lowell Police Superintendent Kelly Richardson said.

Leonard D. Robinson, 22 of Lowell, was arrested in Boston and charged with murder, officials said.

He was arraigned Tuesday morning in Lowell District Court, the Lowell Sun reported.

Officials believe Robinson killed Dejah Jenkins-Minus, 22 of Boston, in a Llewelyn Street home on Thanksgiving, Nov. 25 and then fled the scene.

Lowell police were sent to the house the next day around 10:45 a.m. to conduct a well-being check for Jenkins-Minus and her two-month-old daughter, at the request of someone she knew.

Officers found Jenkins-Minus' body "with signs of apparent trauma" and EMS pronounced her dead.

The Chief Medical Examiner ruled Jenkins-Minus' death "a homicide by multiple sharp force injuries."

The baby was found unharmed.

Police then executed a search warrant at the home and recovered items "including a knife that appears to be consistent with the murder weapon."

All people are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

The Middlesex District Attorney's Office and Lowell, Boston and state police are investigating the case.
