Lowell Man Arrested In Tewksbury, Accused Of Selling Fentanyl
Miguel Fernandez was taken into custody Wednesday after police observed what they believe was a hand-to-hand drug transaction.
TEWKSBURY, MA — A Lowell man was arrested in Tewksbury Wednesday after police accused him of selling fentanyl, the Tewksbury Police Department announced.
Miguel Fernandez, 19, was charged with distribution of fentanyl and was due to be arraigned Thursday in Lowell District Court, authorities said.
According to police reports, at approximately 7 p.m. Wednesday near 85 Main St., Tewksbury PD detectives observed what they believed to be a hand-to-hand drug transaction.

The Tewksbury PD said its officers stopped a vehicle driven by one of the individuals involved in the alleged transaction, whom they later identified as Fernandez.
The second individual involved in the transaction was stopped on foot, police said.

The Tewksbury PD said an investigation revealed that Fernandez allegedly sold a bag of fentanyl to a 43-year-old woman from Lowell.
The department said that officers located $232 in cash on Fernandez.
The woman involved in the alleged transaction will be summoned to court and face a charge of possession of fentanyl, police said.
