Man Charged In Hit-And-Run Crash In Tewksbury: Police

A man who had two warrants out for his arrest in other counties was taken into custody Sunday, police said.

TEWKSBURY, MA — A man was charged in connection with a hit-and-run crash in Tewksbury on Sunday, according to police.

Police responded to a call at 2:41 p.m. reporting an accident in the area of Main Street and Hinckley Road.

A gray Jeep Grand Cherokee was involved in a crash with a Honda CRV, which was heavily damaged. Both of the people in the Honda CRV were evaluated for injuries by fire department personnel.

The Jeep had fled the scene of the accident, police said.

Police found the driver, Dasuan Jacobs, 28, of Boston, in the backyard of a Hinckley Road home.

Jacobs had two active warrants out for his arrest in separate counties, according to police.

He was arrested and taken to a local hospital.

He was charged with failure to stop or yield, operation of a motor vehicle with a suspended license, leaving the scene of property damage, and possession of a class B drug.

Jacobs was arraigned bedside at an area hospital on Monday.
