Man Charged In Connection With Motel 6 Carjacking, Kidnapping
Victim escaped in Lowell, suspect arrested in Roxbury.

A 23-year-old man is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly carjacking a man at knifepoint in the parking lot of Motel 6.
Jeffrey Venter of Boston, no know address, was arrested in Roxbury on Jan. 1 with the help of the Boston Police Department. Tewksbury Police had obtained an arrest warrant on Ventner, charging him with Kidnapping, Armed Assault with Intent to Murder, Carjacking, Armed Robbery, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and Assault and Battery.
According to Tewksbury Police, the incident began on Dec. 26, when officers responded to the , after receiving a report about a man being kidnapped and forced into a vehicle by another man.

The victim reportedly escaped the vehicle in Lowell and managed to call police and tell them that Ventner had stolen his car.
The victim told police that he had been held at knifepoint at the Motel 6 and that Ventner threatened to kill him if he didn't comply with his demands. The victim claims Ventner also robbed him and punched him several times.

The stolen vehicle was later discovered in Roxbury.
Venter was arraigned at Lowell District Court on January 2 and is being held on $2,500 bail.
